The Zierow district of the municipality is a state-approved health resort. This status forms the legal basis for the levying of a spa tax, which is an important contribution to the maintenance or expansion of various tourist services. The Municipality of Zierow’s spa tax is intended to cover the expenses for the production, purchase, expansion, improvement, renewal, administration and maintenance of public facilities provided for spa and recreational purposes.

Spa tax is charged in the period from 1 April to 30 September each year. Overnight guests can obtain their tourist pass from their lessor. Day guests can acquire their day pass for the managed beach area at the vending machine at the beach entrance or via the app "moBiLET". More information about the app can be found here.
